Scott Ellison Smith inherited his love for photography from his grandfather who presented him with his first camera on his 18th birthday. In 2001 he enrolled in the International Center of Photography's Photojournalism course and began to explore story telling with images. As an educator he has sought to impact and inspire youth. Red Clay Arts, a 501 (c3) not for profit founded with like minded colleagues, cemented that vision. 'One shot' a workshop designed to help young people reclaim the images of their communities through photography has been presented in underserved communities in Trenchtown - Jamaica, Marvel - Arkansas, St. Croix-USVI and Brooklyn - New York. In addition, Mr. Smith developed and taught the photography program at NYC's Bard High School Early College for 7 years. His work as an artist includes documentary, portrait, fashion, event and commercial photography for various profit and not for profit organizations (See Client List in portfolios).
